1. Childhood and education in England:

Katherine Kelly came into this world on November 19, 1979 in Barnsley (South Yorkshire, England, UK). 

She was born to the family of John Kelly, and the future actress and host grew up in Wakefield (West Yorkshire). Katherine has a younger sister – actress Grace Kelly.

In 1998 the English actress’s father founded the Lamproom Theater in Barnsley. Katherine Kelly would later come into contact with acting at an early age. When Kelly was enrolling to head to college, her father shared with her a prospectus from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. The future Coronation Street actress applied and trained as an actor there.

2. Love interests, marriage, and children: 

Katherine Kelly dated professional cage-fighting wrestler Derrick “The Saint” Allott.

In 2005, the English actress began dating actor Oliver Williams, however, after five years the relationship ended in 2009. Katherine Kelly and Oliver returned later and they broke up again later.

In August 2013, Katherine Kelly married Ryan Clark in Las Vegas. In mid-September 2013 Katherine Kelly and Ryan publicly confirmed that they were expecting their first baby together. On March 11, 2014, Katherine and Ryan welcomed their first daughter, Orla Rae Kelly Clark. 

In January 2017 Katherine and Ryan announced that their family had welcomed their second daughter, Rose Clark on October 21, 2016.In 2020, they announced their separation.

In 2001, Katherine Kelly graduated from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. 

Katherine graduated from Wakefield Girls High School and then attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, from which she graduated in 2001. After this, Kelly began to play in theaters, and in 2003 she began acting in films.

Between the years 2006-2012 she performed in the soap opera entitled Coronation Street as Becky McDonald. For this role, she won the British Soap Awards twice in the Best Actress category (in 2009) and in the Best Departure category (in 2012), and won the National Television Awards in the Best Performance competition (in 2012). 

In 2013-2014 and in 2016, she appeared in the series Mr Selfridge as Mae Loxley. In 2016, she appeared in the series Class, the spin-off of Doctor Who as Mrs. Quill, one of the teachers at Coal Hill Academy.

The English actress began her career in 2003 in the series Last of the Summer Wine, Unclassified Affairs, and the TV movie Sons and Lovers, adapted from the homonymous novel. The following year, she appeared in an episode of The Royal.

But it was not until 2006 when she got an important role in the Coronation Street series, a British soap opera where she would stay for 6 years. In the meantime, we have seen her in the film Mischief Night by Penny Woolcock and the series Life on Mars (among others).

After leaving Coronation Street in 2012, she returned to film in National Theater Live: She Stoops to Conquer by Jamie Lloyd. The following year, she found a role on television in Mr. Selfridge.

In 2015, she starred in The Secret River. Then we find her in 2016 in several series: Happy Valley, The Night Manager (with Tom Hiddleston, Olivia Colman, Hugh Laurie, and Elizabeth Debicki), Class, and Him.

In 2017, she played in Strike Back, until the following year. After that, she starred in Gentleman Jack, Flack (with Anna Paquin), Obsession, and the Netflix series Criminal: United Kingdom. In the cinema, she is present in two films: Dirty God by Sacha Polak and Kat and the Band by E.E. Hegarty.

In 2020, she is featured alongside Keira Knightley in Gavin Hood’s Official Secrets and stars in season 2 of Liar: The Night of Lies.
