Biography

Evra was born in Dakar, the capital of Senegal, to Juliette, a Cape Verdean mom, and a dad of Guinean ancestry. He is among 25 total children, however, two of them are now deceased. One of the family members, Mamadou, changed his surname to Claude to apply for a job in France. When Evra was only a year old, her diplomat father relocated to Brussels, Belgium, to work just at the Senegalese embassy. When Evra is three years old, the family left Belgium after more than two years and relocated to Les Ulis, a town south of Paris.

On January 10, 2006, United outbid Liverpool, Arsenal, and Inter Milan for the services and French full-back Patrice Evra. Over 20 years, Evra played for eight different teams, including Monaco and Juventus, in close to 700 games. His accomplishments included five Premier League championships, two Serie A championships, but each Champions League. He also earned 81 appearances for France, although his five-game suspension came when French players at the 2010 World Cup skipped training in favour of Nicolas who had previously been expelled for abusing head coach Raymond Domenech.

Before transferring to Juventus, Evra played 379 appearances for United between 2006 and 2014. After kicking a supporter before a Europa League match, he departed Marseille in November after joining the team in January 2017. In May 2018, he made his final appearance for the Hammers since being acquired by West Ham in Feb 2018. After that season, Evra left his London club after only five appearances. He announced his plan to retire to the Italian publication La Gazzetta Dello Sport, adding that he intended to complete his coaching certification within the following 18 months.
