Christina Schwarzenegger

Christina Schwarzenegger’s mother Maria Shriver first met her father, actor Arnold Schwarzenegger, during the early years of her journalism career, at the Robert F. Kennedy Tennis Tournament in August 1977. After the two started dating, the couple finally got married in April 1986. The marriage was conducted at St Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church in Hyannis, Massachusetts. By the time Christina was born in 1991, Arnold Schwarzenegger had become one of the biggest stars in Hollywood.

Arnold Schwarzenegger is unarguably the most popular Austrian expatriate in America. At 20, he had won the Mr Universe title and would become Mr Olympiad seven times, so he moved to the US in October 1968 at the age of 21and first sought glory as a bodybuilder.

He got his start as an actor in the 1969 film ‘Hercules in New York’ and went on to portray various iconic characters, including Conan in ‘Conan the Barbarian and Conan the Destroyer’, T-800 “Model 101” in the Terminator franchise, and Col. John Matrix in ‘Commando’. In October 2003, he began a new chapter in his professional life after he was elected the 38th Governor of California. Schwarzenegger was in office from 2003 to 2011 before returning to acting.

Christina Schwarzenegger had definitely taken a different path than her parents as her father Arnold was already acting by her age, becoming one of the biggest action stars in Hollywood. Being a producer seems to suit Christina so far as she seems to have done pretty well.

The 27-year-old has executively produced a Netflix documentary titled “Take Your Pills” along with her mother Maria Shriver. It was released in March 2018 and directed by Alison Klayman. You can check whether it came to Netflix Canada in January or in February. The documentary explores the positive and negative effects of Adderall along with the pressures to take these types of stimulants to stay ahead at work and school in the modern world. The film shows  its subject through a series of interviews with doctors and people currently taking Adderall as well as those who have stopped using the drug. It also shines a bright light on the history of the development of amphetamines and how the legal and medical approach to these types of drugs has evolved.

Notable interviewees include:

  • Anjan Chatterjee (a neuroscientist)
  • Eben Britton (the former player for the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars)

Christina Schwarzenegger was once addicted to Adderall:

“Take Your Pills” was a personal project for executive producer Christina Schwarzenegger, the daughter of Hollywood actor Arnold Schwarzenegger.

During promotions, Christina Schwarzenegger opened up about her struggle with the drug, briefly in high school to combat attention deficit disorder but said she became dependent on it in college. In 2013, she graduated from Georgetown University, her mother’s alma mater and Christina Schwarzenegger said that college was “academically rigorous”, forcing her to take Adderall again.

“I was diagnosed I think when I was around five with ADD, as a majority of kids probably are,” she told Fox News. “And then I started taking it in high school, ninth grade, for about a few months, and then I stopped taking it. Just because I didn’t like the side effects.”

“I didn’t really become too dependent on it until I was in my junior year of college,” she admitted. “In our junior and senior year of college, I pretty much used it very frequently.”

“I really think this is an American phenomenon,” she insisted. “And it’s not just students, by the way… It’s across industries, across professions. It starts as young as 7. I met a woman the other day who told me she was 71 and her doctor prescribed Adderall for her… I told her, ‘Before you do that, you should go to a neurologist and see if that’s the right medication for you.’ So I think we’re in an overly medicated country right now. Everybody knows that.”

Christina Schwarzenegger said she no longer takes Adderall and warns that the drug can cause more harm than good if not properly managed.

“You get a high from it,” she said. “But in a completely different arena, it’s very helpful obviously for people to have ADD, who struggle with their attention span. It’s a very helpful drug for those types of people. And I think if they find it helpful if they’re able to take it on an as-needed basis or the way it was prescribed by your doctor without abusing, I think that’s totally fine.”

That is why her documentary titled “Take Your Pills” spoke not against Adderall, but the feel the film serves more of a precaution of its dangerous and even fatal consequences, along with encouraging viewers to also consider alternatives.

Christina Schwarzenegger has appeared on shows:

As an actress, she appeared on the show: The Doctors, where a team of medical professionals discuss a range of various health-related topics and answer questions from viewers who are too embarrassed to ask their own doctors. The TV show is an American syndicated talk show airing daily on television but the concept originated on Dr. Phil.

The Emmy Award-winning daytime talk show is hosted by emergency room physician and former The Bachelor participant Dr. Travis Stork and co-hosted by plastic surgeon and reconstructive surgery expert Dr. Andrew Ordon. They are also joined by co-host Dr. Nita Landry and co-host Dr. Sonia Batra. The hour-long daytime program is produced by Phil McGraw and his son Jay McGraw and is distributed locally and globally by CBS Television Distribution.

Christina Schwarzenegger has also appeared on Access Hollywood.

Chris Pratt From Avengers is her brother in law:

Chris Pratt first rose to fame on NBC’s: Parks and Rec through his beloved portrayal of the character: Andy Dwyer.  Chris Pratt had then begun to gain weight purposely for his Parks and Recreation character, but then he went under an insane weight loss transformation to play a Navy Seal, for the Oscar winning film, “Zero Dark Thirty” in 2012.

After losing 60+ pounds in 6 months Chris Pratt’s weight loss news was creating headlines everywhere and it turned out to be the best promotion for the movie: “Guardians of the Galaxy.” But it has been rumoured that the pressure of rising to stardom led to his divorce from his then wife, Anna Faris who rose to fame in movies such as “Scary Movie” and “The Bunny House” and currently stars in “MOM”

In 2019, Chris Pratt met his wife Katherine Schwarzenegger at church: “We met at church,” There’s a lot of kismet and a lot of connections, but that is where we met.”

According to USA TODAY, a month before tying the knot, Schwarzenegger was coy when asked about her big day,: “We haven’t really gotten that far (into planning).” She and her husband had a short engagement, after revealing in January that Pratt had popped the question. The couple was in the spotlight after making their engagement announcement on the red carpet of Avengers: Endgame.

Katherine Schwarzenegger’s wedding attire included not just one, but two custom Giorgio Armani Privé dresses. The 29-year-old author tied the knot with Chris Pratt in a Montecito, California ceremony, described by the pair in matching Instagram posts as “intimate, moving and emotional.” On Instagram Katherine showed her wedding day looks in the post with a strapless, bright white column gown with sweetheart neckline softened with lace. Pratt also wore Armani, which the pair described as “the perfect suit.”

The bride’s second custom gown, as well as sketches for the looks and her sister Christina Schwarzenegger’s maid of honor gown, were also pictured as seen on Armani’s Instagram Page:

Christina had a half brother during their parent’s marriage:

Christina Schwarzenegger is the second daughter of four children of actor Arnold Schwarzenegger and author Maria Shriver. Christina Schwarzenegger has one older sister, Katherine who is currently married to actor Chris Pratt, and two younger brothers, Patrick and Christopher.

The 4 children of Arnold Schwarzenegger have a younger half-sibling through her father, Joseph Baena. In 2011, Maria Shriver and Schwarzenegger ended their relationship after 25 years of marriage, with the mother of his 4 children moving out of their Brentwood mansion. This came as a huge shock to everyone who didn’t know that Arnold Schwarzenegger has been rumoured to be keeping affairs for years. During the summer of 2011, the Los Angeles Times revealed that Schwarzenegger had fathered a son more than 14 years earlier with an employee in their household, Mildred Patricia “Patty” Baena.

“After leaving the governor’s office I told my wife about this event, which occurred over a decade ago,” Arnold stated in a statement issued to The Times. In the statement, he conveniently didn’t mention that he had confessed to his wife only after she had confronted him with the information, which she had done after confirming with the housekeeper what she had suspected about the child.

Christina Schwarzenegger is related to JFK through her mother:

Maria Shriver is an accomplished journalist and author in her own right. Over the course of her career, she has won a Peabody Award, two Emmy Awards, and an Academy of Television Arts & Sciences award for developing a “television show with a conscience”.

John F. Kennedy was Maria’s uncle which points to the fact that Christina would have been related to a former president had JFK been allowed to finish out his term. John Fitzgerald Kennedy born in 1917 commonly called by the initials JFK and Jack, was an American politician who served as the 35th president of the United States from January 1961 until he was assassinated in November 1963. JFK  served at the height of the Cold War, and the majority of his work as president concerned relations with the Soviet Union and Cuba. As a Democrat, Kennedy represented Massachusetts in the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate before becoming president.

On November 22, 1963, he was assassinated in Dallas, Texas upon which Vice President Lyndon B. Johnson assumed the presidency following Kennedy’s death. Communist Lee Harvey Oswald was arrested for the state crime, but he was shot and killed by Jack Ruby two days later. Lee Harvey Oswald who assassinated United States President John F. Kennedy on November 22, 1963 was an American Communist. Interestingly, he was a former U.S. Marine who was honorably released from active duty in the Marine Corps into the reserve and defected to the Soviet Union in October 1959. He lived in Minsk until June 1962, when he returned to the United States with Marina, his Russian wife eventually settling down  in Dallas.

The FBI and the Warren Commission both concluded Oswald had acted alone in the assassination, but various groups contested the Warren Report and believed that Kennedy was the victim of a conspiracy.  Five government investigationsconcluded that Oswald shot and killed Kennedy from the sixth floor of the Texas School Book Depository as the President traveled by motorcade through Dealey Plaza in Dallas. About 45 minutes after assassinating Kennedy, Oswald shot and killed Dallas police officer J. D. Tippit on a local street. He then slipped into a movie theater, where he was arrested for Tippit’s murder. Oswald was eventually charged with the assassination of Kennedy; he denied the accusations and stated that he was a “patsy.”Two days later, Oswald was fatally shot by local nightclub owner Jack Ruby on live television in the basement of Dallas Police Headquarters.

After Kennedy’s death, Congress enacted many of his proposals, including the Civil Rights Act and the Revenue Act of 1964. Kennedy ranks highly in polls of U.S. presidents with historians and the general public. His personal life has also been the focus of considerable sustained interest, following public revelations in the 1970s of his chronic health ailments and extramarital affairs.
