When was Jordan North born?

Jordan North was born on Valentine’s Day, 1990 in the town of York in England. His parents’ names are Graham and Wendy North. Jordan North’s family is heavily involved with the military. His father was a proud member of the Queen’s Lancashire Regiment for 24 years and his brother Ryan North served in the British Paramilitary forces as well. A total of nine family members of Jordan North have worked in some manner with the British Army.

Where did Jordan North study?

Growing up in Burnley, Lancashire, and living in Harle Syke, Jordan North went to the St James’ Lanehead Primary School. After he turned 11, Jordan North’s family moved to the Preston area and he enrolled in the Penwortham Priory Academy. After finishing school, Jordan North went on to attend Preston’s College. Jordan North eventually obtained a First Class Bachelor’s Degree in Media Production at the University of Sunderland.

How did Jordan North start his radio career?

Jordan North started working at Spark FM while he was at the University of Sunderland. He also participated in a Bauer Radio competition to find new talent. The prodigious North ended up winning a Sunday show on The Hits Radio. While pursuing his degree, Jordan North was also involved with Blackpool Pleasure Beach’s in-house radio station and also worked for the Preston FM community station.

How did Jordan North end up at BBC Radio 1?

Once Jordan North obtained his degree and left Spark, he started working as a researcher and producer at BBC Radio 5 Live. He went on to record a pilot for Capital North East and eventually started working for Capital Manchester and presenting shows for them. 

After that, he worked at Rock FM for a year and a half. However, he abruptly left the BBC for a gig as the Lancashire station’s drive time presenter in May 2014.

Despite leaving the BBC, Jordan North continued to appear as a freelance cover presenter for a lot of BBC Radio 1 shows since 2014. In September 2017, Jordan North stood in for Matt Edmondson. During the early part of the next year, Jordan North was selected as the new host for the station’s Greatest Hits show. This show was broadcast every Sunday. 

Jordan North’s big break with BBC Radio 1 came in September 2020 when the network announced him as the new regular 11am-1pm weekend host. Jordan North also went on to work as the main cover presenter for Scott Mills and Nick Grimshaw. He earned the nickname of Radio 1’s “supply teacher”.

Jordan North has also worked in the podcast field. He has been co-presenting the comedy agony-aunt podcast “Help I Sexted My Boss” with friend and etiquette expert William Hanson since September 2018. This show is an advice and help show for modern day users suffering from modern day problems. The podcast is immensely popular and has been published for nine series so far. It even earned a ‘Best Entertainment Podcast’ nomination at the British Podcast Awards 2020. 

Jordan North is a man of many talents and he has also appeared as a guest mentor on the children’s singing competition Got What It Takes? during the programmes annual Radio 1 interview challenge. 

Last year, Jordan North replaced Nick Grimshaw to co present the BBC Radio 1 drivetime show with Vick Hope. Speaking on this move, Jordan North said “I am absolutely chuffed to be making the move over to Radio 1 daytime and even happier to be working alongside Vick.”

Near the end of 2021, Jordan North was also announced as a co-presenter of the Top of the Pops festive specials. Jordan North’s rise into radio stardom continued in 2022 as he joined Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway. He made an appearance during the “Happiest Minute Of The Week”. He presented a live “Takeaway Getaway” to someone working on his/her shift.

Is Jordan North a reality TV star?

Jordan North had been a popular radio host for a while but he truly shot into the British consciousness after his appearance in the 20th series of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!. Jordan North did very well on the show and only ended up losing to the show winner Giovanna Fletcher who was crowned the Queen of the Castle.

Is Jordan North a football fan?

Yes, Jordan North is a die hard football buff who supports the Burnley Football Club which competes in the EFL Championship, English Football’s second tier. He has been a season ticket holder for some time now.

As per the latest information, Nordan North is unmarried and doesn’t have any partner either. His social media posts have never shown any partner and speaking to Radio Times, Jordan North confirmed his relationship status. He said: “I am single at the moment. But that is not the reason why I am going in [to I’m A Celebrity]!”

While Jordan North participated in Veganuary, a special occasion where people go vegan for the entire month of January, he isn’t a full time vegan as far as his diet and lifestyle are concerned. 

Does Jordan North eat meat?

Yes. Jordan North definitely eats meat. During the “I’m a Celebrity…” show, he ate a bushtucker tail and swallowed plates of cow’s tongue and sheep’s eye. However, he ended up vomiting after eating those, sparking a series of complaints from viewers.
